CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

We are currently on the lookout for some self-motivated, superstar Interns to fill two different roles. The Other Art Fair Australia offers a great opportunity for current students or recent graduates to get first-hand experience and provides professional skill sets tailored to a variety of industry areas. For example but not limited to: Event Management/Planning, Marketing and PR, Data Management, and Artist Management. Please see below for a description of the open roles we currently have.

Event Management Internship
Current - April 2018

This position will involve a variety of tasks including the following involve arranging invitations, marketing, timing, costs, staff, food, venue, sponsors and partnership management. Most of your time will be spent in the planning stage before the Fair and shortly post-Fair. The focus will on supervision and training to benefit and assist you in taking a big step towards your dream career.

The ideal candidate will need to be able to work independently and within a team, take charge of their role and responsibilities, show initiative, have great organisational skills, think outside of the box, multi-task, have amazing people skills both in person and other the phone, but most of all the have fun and a bit of a laugh with the team.

Data Management Internship
Current - April 2018

This position will involve creating/modifying database systems that meet our team's needs for data we already have as well as new data we plan to gather. Some of the tasks you will complete might include identifying user needs and creating databases that meet those needs, merging old and new databases, backing up information contained in a database and modifying a database's structure to make it streamlined and more efficient.

The ideal candidate will need to be able to work independently and within a team, be self motivated, problem solve, and must have intermediate to advanced computer skills using programs such as Google applications and Microsoft Office, and be able to have fun and a bit of a laugh with the team.

On-site Fair Volunteer
22-25 March 2018

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our on-site volunteer team for the duration of the fair. Volunteers work closely with our artists, operations team, and partners. The role is varied and exciting, providing valuable experience for anyone interested in events and contemporary art.

Volunteers are the face of the fair and the first point of contact for artists, partners, and visitors. You will need to be flexible and able to respond to all reasonable requests positively. Daily duties will include but not limited to:

  • Front-of-house support which includes providing information and assistance to visitors
  • Event team support which includes operations, marketing, and artist liaison
  • Provide information and interact with visitors at fair features
  • Leaflet distribution

Please note that both roles are unpaid and there may be cross over with other tasks/areas of organising a Fair not listed. We will offer training and support in further developing your skill set.
